“The things which they, as men, rule out as impossible, He plainly shows to be possible; that which they deride as unfitting, His goodness makes most fit; and the things which these wiseacres laugh at as ‘human’ He by His inherent might declares divine.”

Athanasius

The diversity I look for in a church:

“Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I am reading in one of James K.A. Smith’s books about “chicken sexers,” who are probably not what you think. They are people who, with 99% accuracy, can identify the sex of baby chicks and sort them — by pure intuition. I wish to have this same ability with AI. It has gotten so good (visually) that in certain instances reality is indistinguishable from artificial generation to the naked eye. I hope that I have the ability to discern this difference between hollow and resonant images with my heart, if not my eyes.

To be a poet is to sing along with the world.

“There is never a holy sigh, never a tear we shed, which is lost. And as every grace increases by exercise of itself, so does the grace of prayer. By prayer we learn to pray.”

Richard Sibbes
